Hi everyone!

What a week it’s been, I’m very glad that today is Friday!

On Monday I had my biomechanical assessment with Nicky and it was so much more in depth than I had imagined. I am rather squiff and unbalanced and I have very interesting knees… and of course this kind of hyper-extension will lead to trouble later on. So I’ve got all my strengthening exercises to work on, and boy am I stiff already!

Tuesday was a disaster. I left Durban at 15h30 to make sure I was in time for the group pilates session, only to take a wrong turn and end up in the middle of nowhere with a dead cellphone L I only made it back to Pietermaritzburg just before 6pm! Sorry ladies, I’ll be there next week for sure!

Wednesday was an early start for the Sunrise Run (or walk in my case!). Nicky walked with me and never once made me feel like I was too slow. She encouraged me the whole way and I finished the 5km feeling great. Craigie drive is a heck of a lot steeper on foot… but I’m looking forward to conquering it again next week! Please join us- we start at 5h45 and it really is a lovely walk. I’m aiming to be 20 minutes faster by the end of the 12 weeks, so watch this space!

NO MATTER HOW SLOW YOU GO, YOU ARE STILL LAPPING EVERYBODY ON THE COUCH!

I’m still going strong with my diet plan and my weigh in with Steph on Monday showed that I’d already lost some body fat J

I’ve now got my beautiful Go Figure Fitness Log Book and my goal for the next few weeks is to make sure that I use it properly and log all my meals, sleep and activity.

So bring on week 3… I’m ready for you!

Keep warm this weekend everyone!

Kate Watts
